Letter grades can be set to display to students for individual grade items or the entire gradebook. ***If the associate dean is the course instructor, an alternate associate dean in the College of Arts and Sciences will review the case.Letter grades cannot be entered into the Moodle gradebook in a manner that aggregates them into the course grade but it is possible to enter numerical grades and set them to display as letter grades to students. If the School does not have an assistant academic director, the associate dean will select an academic director from another School to serve as the alternate. If an assistant academic director is present within the School, that individual will serve as the alternate. **If the course instructor is also the academic director, the associate dean will designate an alternate to serve in this role. If the student is off-campus and/or unable to meet in person, videoconference, phone call, or email can serve as a substitute. *Meetings should be held in person whenever possible. If the alleged incident is a second violation of academic misconduct, the incident and relevant documentation will be reported to the director of the Office for Student Resolutions for evaluation via the Student Conduct Review Process, as outlined in the UNE Student Handbook (PDF). The associate dean will then notify in writing the academic director, the faculty member, the director of the Office for Student Resolutions, and the student of the final decision and the sanction, if appropriate, within five business days of receiving the material from the academic director. If the associate dean disagrees with the conclusion and/or the recommended sanction, the associate dean will meet with the academic director to determine an appropriate course of action. If the alleged incident is a first violation of academic misconduct, the associate dean will make the final decision on the charge and sanction. If the academic director concludes that the student has committed an act of misconduct, the associate dean*** will review the relevant documentation, the academic director’s conclusion, and the recommended sanction.
